Job Description:

  • To lead and coordinate the effective management of finance and general administration functions in Finance department.
  • To manage all aspects of accounting, procurement and regular audit for the organization.
  • Develop/institutionalize strong internal control mechanism (financial and administrative systems) for the organization.
  • Leading the process of developing a realistic annual budget and making sure that it includes enough income to cover all planned expenditure.
  • To ensure the organization meets all its commitments to the donors and be the contact person for donors in all finance related matters.
  • To develop financial guideline and procedures for all projects and ensure finance staff appraisal are done on timely basis.
  • Meeting FCRA legal obligations (e.g. supporting the annual audit and preparing returns for government departments).
  • Implementing the financing strategy approved by the senior management.
  • To assist and provide training to field staff in finance and other related areas as appropriate for proper maintenance of their books of accounts, inventory and fixed assets records.
  • To visit field offices to check and to verify accounts and support them in their capacity building /strengthening.
  • Regularly forecasting cash flow based on the work plan by the program, making sure that all parts of the organization have enough cash to pay for their activities and advising the management on investing any cash reserves.
  • To make sure that the monthly and other annual and periodic financial reports are forwarded to management and donors within the stipulated deadlines.
  • To provide an overview of financial performance of the suppliers and be overall responsible for the timely disbursement of the financial installments to the suppliers and field offices.
  • Ensure all financial reports are checked for accuracy before they are submitted to the donors.
  • Negotiate any changes to the property contract, or improvements to the property, with the landlord.
  • Ensure there is a valid lease contract.
  • Carry any other duties as may be directed by the CEO.
  • Ensure that all major financial (or other) commitments with other parties are covered by a legal written agreement.
  • Ensure financial records are maintained in compliance with accepted policies and procedures.
  • Resolve accounting discrepancies and irregularities.
  • continuous management and support of budget and forecast activities.
  • Preparation of bank reconciliations for all the bank accounts and present them to the Senior Manager/Director for approval.
  • Posting cheque payment vouchers into Quick books.
  • Carrying out frequent data back ups.
  • Preparation of Projects cash flows in Liaison with the Finance officer and accountant so as to ensure it tallies with the final report.
  • Preparation of support documents e.g time sheets, contracts, vouchers then preparing the financial reports in liaison with field offices and ensure that all financial reporting deadlines are met.
  • Approval of cheque payments and petty cash payments.


  • Post Graduate in Finance Management/ M.Com / C.A / ICWAI /.
  • Minimum 4 years in a senior position most preferably with NGOs.
  • Computer proficiency in Ms office and accounting packages preferably Tally.
  • Ability to work independently while being a strong team player.
  • Strong organizational,interpersonal and communication skills.

Job Description:

A. Mobilization and Organization of the beneficiary communities.

  • Receive training on the project concept and approach to the community mobilization.
  • Contact the leaders in the communities to establish early rapport and to provide overall orientation of the project.
  • Extend support, interact and dialogue with individuals representing beneficiary households for the organization of community for development.
  • Provide orientation training to the members of community to raise awareness about the project.
  • Facilitate small and large community meetings to encourage discussions for the formation of Advisory Council for the community.
  • Conduct awareness training regarding the benefits of organized communities to encourage organization of the communities.
  • Facilitate the Community in making thorough analysis of their vulnerabilities, capabilities and resources at their disposal.
  • Provide support in establishing sustainable Livelihood opportunities for members of community.
  • Facilitate resolution of dispute, conflicts between members of community.

B. Obtaining information related to the beneficiary communities

  • Obtain community data necessary for preparing community profiles as per the standard “Community Profile” format of the project.
  • Conduct baseline survey of the beneficiaries to establish baseline data of the community on some key indicators to measure impact of the projects.
  • Provide necessary reporting inputs to the monitoring and evaluation officer as per the standard.
  • Monitoring formats on regular basis.

C. Reporting and Linkages

  • Assist Program Coordinator in development of a clear work plan for the community mobilization activities of the projects with the aim to complete the activities within the time frame of the project.
  • Ensure field-testing of the various phase of social mobilization and provide feedback.
  • Capture success stories and lessons learned in each phase of program implementation.
  • Prepare monthly report on standard, monthly reporting formats.

Qualifications and experience:

  • The Community Mobilizer should have a Post-graduation in MSW / Bachelor’s degree in any social science with equivalent relevant experience.
  • The incumbent should be familiar with basic concept of social mobilization; should have demonstrated willingness to learn and work with people for community development; should be able to spend extended periods with communities.
  • The incumbent should also have excellent oratory skills in local language.
  • The incumbent should possess good knowledge in operating computers and be expert in MS office.
  • Should have a two wheeler driving license and be very mobile.
  • Knowledge of English language will be an advantage.
